A Musical Generator preview

A Musical Generator is a shareware program that creates music and MIDI files from fractals, pictures, text and numbers. Lots of fractals can be used and each fractal can be adjusted in infinite ways to create music. Also you can turn bitmaps into music. You can use the names of yourself and your friend to see whether they sound good together. And you can insert your tax figures, model results, spread sheets or whatever numeric source in order to create music.

All images have been created, edited and saved by CamCapture.

When you start a Musical Generator, it opens like this.

When you play music, you see this. This image has been created by clicking File|Examples and choosing Demo.tmg.

The plotter can help you in customizing your own fractals, as here with the Mandelbrot set. This plot was generated by choosing the tab Complex maps and clicking on the mandelbrot fractal. Click right on the thumbnail of the Mandelbrot fractal in the Vector View and choose plot. The Mandelbrot is plotted. When ready you can select a small part of the fractal using the mouse. Click the left mouse button and drag the mouse. A small rectangle is drawn on the map. When you lift the button the selected portion of the fractal is automatically zoomed into.

Using the plotter

The piano roll helps you to evaluate your music. Click View|Piano roll to see it.
